Smelne Yachts came in 2002, in contact with Harald and Silvia Paul, this contact had as result that mr. Harald Paul gave the order for building a Smelne Vlet 1100 with a very particular specification. It was decided to make a jointly project what both for Harald and for Smelne Yachts was a new challenge to their many years' experience in the water sport. The ship was going to be constructed for very special and long range expeditions. An extra long and deep keel was installed to improve the seagoing characteristics. This keel was also used for an extra diesel tank of 660 litres, so there is a total diesel stock of 2000 litres. The total displacement of the ship is 18 tons.
With a particular expeditions we mean extreme sea voyages which are uncommon with a motorboat.
